At We Water Wednesday, plants aren't just our business, but also our way of life. There are many studies out there that insist plants help cultivate a healthy, more balanced life.
Below are four of our favorite ways that plants have helped us stay balanced and present through the recent tough times.
Soothing - Research has shown that surrounding yourself with plants is psychologically soothing. It has been seen that patients surrounded by plants have lower heart rates and lower blood pressure.
Self Care - Taking care of plants can help remind you to take care of yourself. Stay hydrated and take in the sun. Whether you are a human or a leafy friend, hydrate yourself and get outside for that Vitamin D!
Purify - Plants are natural air purifiers that can turn any area into fresh spaces. Plants also bring much needed moisture into the air which can help with dry skin during those cold, winter days. (A little lotion doesn't hurt either)
Empathy - Caring for another living thing is a mentally and emotionally positive intention. By caring for our plants, we can be reminded to stay grounded and attentive to the needs of others.
